I brought back the second website I had made while I was a student at the UofI. It expired in 2013 so it’s a bit moldy and yet I’ve got moldier sites in my crypt.

I believe I peaked with this simple minimalist weblog design. In resurrecting the site, I did fix the header and menu bar which used pngs/gifs that switched with a mouse hover. Images that were set to be preloaded in the body html. XD
I just picked some random SVG’s for the social links but didn’t care about congruence…y which was present on the old site. I also didn’t bother fixing any of the formatting with the images. Some are just broken which is fine for now.
My main blog utilizes WordPress of course.
Tailwind is used throughout the entire site.

I don’t know what possessed me in thinking I needed to have yet another personal webpage; this one being my third iteration. Especially now with civilization on the brink of complete and utter collapse. How long will the internet be on anyway? Luckily for me, I have more fun creating the sites than maintaining them. Either I’ll create many page layouts with many designs for many purposes, for funsies… or the apocalypse happens.
In my exploration of websites that I wanted to steal borrow code/features from, I discovered a type of web design referred to by some as Tailwind. This way of creating websites blew my mind! Never have I considered just listing almost every possible variation of css code on one style sheet and then just pulling which styling effect you want by declaring it in the div‘s. Or whatever you want to style. Incredible! Too bad AI has effectively made Tailwind somewhat obsolete because this struck me as if someone reinvented the wheel (of web design). Even still with half my site incorporating Tailwind design, I can’t bring myself to using it properly. It’s like trying to teach an old CSS dog, new Tailwind tricks.
