Philadelphia

Went to Philly for a few days for funsies. Mostly because I had the time and I hadn’t been before. Stayed at a hostel in Old City. Really the only way I can afford to travel these days. It’s rather unfortunate to visit these cities with such rich history and not really care about any of it. I am not a US History connoisseur. But I appreciated the people appreciating all the historic landmarks. I loved visiting the Philadelphia Museum of Art and I loved discovering the Cherry Street Pier where I spent my evenings watching the sun set over the Ben Franklin Bridge and the Delaware River. I wish Iowa City had a place like that; a massive venue for local artists to create and showcase their work.

Overall, I felt like the Philly Cheese Steak sandwich IS the perfect representation of Philadelphia.

The photos aren’t anything special but I wanted to test gallery options and for whatever reason my default WordPress gallery is busted. I’ll have to look into why that is another time. Best wishes!

It’s ALIVE!

I brought back the second website I had made while I was a student at the UofI. It expired in 2013 so it’s a bit moldy and yet I’ve got moldier sites in my crypt.
Take a look: archive.andyz.blog

I believe I peaked with this simple minimalist weblog design. In resurrecting the site, I did fix the header and menu bar which used pngs/gifs that switched with a mouse hover. Images that were set to be preloaded in the body html. XD

Appearance change.

I just picked some random SVG’s for the social links but didn’t care about congruence…y which was present on the old site. I also didn’t bother fixing any of the formatting with the images. Some are just broken which is fine for now.
